Two reasons (and only two):
1. Mav probably threatened limited access to Lebron if they published anything in a bad light. (which is also why contracted ESPN personalities have gone to other outlets in their harsh criticisms of Lebron)
2. ESPN has to insert themselves as much as possible into any news story. In this case, ESPN has become the story after inexplicably pulling a story about an athlete. I don't think people even care about the original story.

QFT. I don't care who it is, if I saw a grown man walking around a casino playing ghost hoops I would think he is either ******ed or on drugs. Lebron is way to into himself as well and this article does nothing but back that viewpoint up. If I had his kind of money I wouldn't be going around acting like a fool.
