I don't see how intentionally losing, even with the excuse of an injured elbow, benefits Lebron.
Worst case scenario, he doesn't "fake" the injury, and he loses based on his own skill. People would criticize him for not being able to do it alone, for not winning, and for teaming up with superstars and ruining his legacy.... which is exactly what happened even with the injury.
Meanwhile, if he doesn't "fake" the injury and does his best to win a title, best case scenario he succeeds and brings Cleveland a championship. He still leaves for Miami, but at least he brings his team a title before he goes.
I just don't see the logic for him faking it.

Me being a big Lebron fan I think its true...That kind of stuff takes a tole on you, but you learn to let it go. If it wasnt Lebron or Delonte would have said something by now. To many things add up for it not to be true. But hey you never know.

an acquaintance of mine who interned with them that summer said all the staff basically took the rumors as true and that's what they had all heard.

This I aint never understood.
Unless dude is a dog and your man enough to come at Delonte's crazy $+! what was wrong with 2 single people having a night out and having sex.
On a personal level I would not care, but my mom aint Lebron's mom, and I dont have Lebron's "maturity" level and vise versa. But if the situation ever got publicised enough to be commented on I would have spilled who I was as a person. Not avoid the situation.
Lebron is probabily being a vindicive child about it as we speak.
Now if your man enough to put Delonte out and say he had sex with your mom and throw him under the bus ala Kobe do that. Tell the truth and state that the action of Delonte and how it spread throughout the organization affected you and how you felt about the idea of potientally staying in Cleveland and that it affected how you played.
Stop being an occult symbol flashing sellout corporate intiety for 1 year whos only known real ability is to be an arrogant spoiled rich kid, who only knows how to deflect attention from his faults. Embrace that hes not Michael Jordan in mind set. That mentally he could not overcome playing for an racist owner who's company defrauded consumers out of the American Dream that he sells to people. Speak on the fact that the team and organization I play for not only cultivated the relationship with a talented teammate with a person I have every right as a human not to want to be with my mother, because he like she can be irrational, and dealing with personal issues. State that your pissed it was allowed it to leak. Make yourself human and dont hide the fact with bravado that your were legitimately pissed at all of your ex teammates and talk trash the whole game as if to hide the fact that all of this stuff is going on in your life.
The sad part of Lebron is that I doubt that his personality, his goals, his desires allowed him to even consider this bold a statement. And he already has a lot of the things most people could ever want. But in watching the decision imo his body language tells the enitre story. He felt like a crap load not fufilling his goals of winning a title in Cleveland. He knew that he could have gotten Dwade on board to go to Cleveland the city, and play with Lebron the man. (Prob could not have gotten him to play for Gilbert) And he knew that he would become an android like vilian.

if you came home and one of your good homeboys who you'd gone into business and let's say opened a bowling alley with, was in bed with your mom wearing nothing but a towel and never approached you prior to tell you he wanted to date her, how would you take it?
now what if you suspected he had slept with your mother in retaliation for you having slept with one of his ex's on a prior occasion? he banged your mom (who's been documented as having a few social/psych issues of her own) out of spite and did so, you suspect, specifically somewhere that he knew you'd walk in on them. how would u react?
