I was having an interesting conversation with a friend about this and wanted to bring it to Niketalk for opinions and comments. Do you think prostitutionshould be legal in the United States? If so, with what stipulations? If not, why not?

Personally, I think it should be legal. Sex is the oldest trade in the book and criminalization of prostitution is a step backwards in improving civilization. We highlight, and fantasize sex but push it under the rug when it comes to discussing it openly and properly. It is a NEED at the most basic level. To mostmen, they would give up water for a year (drink gatorade or something) if they knew for the next 10 years they could pull the hottest women. Women wantequality, but because their strongest trump card still is sex they will never even be thought of as close in the subconscious mind of most.

Sexual frustration is huge, huge, huge, huge factor in crimes, violence, etc I think. I know there are some reports that show this, but will find links later. If crime rates, rape rates, murder rates, depression rates, suicide rates, and all were to go down from instituting prostitution would the benefits be worthit? If the tax dollars went to better schools, hospitals etc would the benefits be worth it?

I think the funny thing is that prostitution would create a much safer, and happier America. I think divorce rates would go down and I think women beingtreated equally would be more prevalent. I think right now many women get by on their looks rather than their abilities. I know at some subconscious level(or conscious) a hiring manager would be more inclined to hire a pretty girl. Girls may not understand this on the same level guys do becuase girls can getDCK at any any any any time of the day or night. Not just pretty girls, but almost any girl that isn't completely disgusting. Guys that are decentlooking, intelligent, etc still have trouble getting girls so sex is a primary primary driving force behind what we do. I think relationships would behealthier because guys know that now they can find a girl that they really have a connection to, instead of jumping at the first hot girl that gives them achance.

I think the negative taboo the industry gets will never get something like this off the ground (in the near future). It is just sad because sex is somethingwe all want on some level or another..yet it is the ONE thing that we ignore in being able to have. I guarantee in Vulcan society (society of people from StarTrek who base lives on logic) that there would be something built in to service this need.

noone wants to respond. but i'll say yes. it should be legal, along with all drugs, and abortion. Even though i'd never do any of them( cept for thelatter)

sure prostitution can be legal as long as it is regulated in terms of STD testing, the girls being on Birth Control & things of that nature

but i doubt that will ever happen

Asking a male dominated board if they should legalize prostitution?

Wouldnt matter for me. I'm not a trick. Be careful what you wish for though... Legalize it and every chick you know will have been a prostitue at somepoint in her life... That will include your wife.

This is the topic of my research paper due in a week. A paper I have yet to start because I am still finishing up the previous paper that was due 3 weeks ago.

It wouldn't be legalized simply because of the CDC. It's contributing to a problem. The pr0n industry claims to test everyone vigorously yet still hasmistakes. Imagine the problems the prostitution industry would have? More customers at a higher rate, and the location of these businesses? Put one inBaltimore and see what happens. People would disintegrate walking to the grocery store...

to OP..u make a great argument..i agree with u..because this country is SOOO morally backwards..its unbelievable. pr0n is so widely available and people getdesires and what not..they act out on it and rape..
but i think our country has too much "pride"..if u know wat i mean to allow this...

man they would have to legalize marijuana first.
so many positives outcomes such as lower taxes.

It's already legal in Rhode Island and Las Vegas as far as I know. Probably a few other states.

As far as I'm concerned it's a state by state issue and the Federal gov't should have no part in it.

but i agree it would...sex would literally be something u do and not something thats "privileged"

its like sneakers becomin GR'ed.....once everyone can get it with da power of a dollar...it wont nearly be as important.

They should run it like a pro sports league. Then they can give post-season awards like MVP, "Most transactions in 24 hours," "Largest singletransaction," etc.

"Shannon Smith signed a record deal yesterday for 5 years, 75 million. She is in the prime of her career, earning over $35 million over 65000 transactionslast season."

I'm only half-joking.

Yes because I think it would put the sex industry out in the open, and it would help out the girls that are being traffic.
