Let's talk concept songs....(oh...and CRITIQUE MY JOINT PLEASE)

Alrighty, as an up-n-comer on this rap $!+% I gotta ask... does anyone really give a damn about creativity anymore? I recently had it OUT with my own flesh andblood cuz these %$%@@* get mad at me for not being "typical" with the flow. They only listen to "hood music" or whatever. Now don't getme twisted, I'm hood as can be. But when I get into that mode, I draw inspiration from all sorts of stuff.. I just dropped a quantum physics play on wordsin a verse I wrote for God's sake (Shouts to potus202. Why? Cuz it's only so many ways you can say I'm cool, or I'm tough, or I got %$#+ andmoney... That $!+% is boring.. "C'mon man"

I'm in the studio one night and the producer is playing beats and what not.. He goes through all the boom bap first... then all the soul samples. Nothingtoo shabby. But the only beat that CAUGHT me was this Batman sample. I actually read the title on the screen as he was about to skip past it and I'm like,"Aye...play that G". Dude said he only made it because his kids begged him to do a Batman beat.... like he's embarrassed to be the guy that makesbatman beats or something. So I wrote a song to appeal to all the lil lame @%+ dudes (like me: lol

) that sit around smoking weed and watching cartoons ormovies. I mean, yeah... I could be "cool" on every track on some Loso $!+%, but I'd rather be nostalgic in that I miss the days when songsweren't MASS PRODUCED for commercial appeal. $!+% used to mean something to the artists back when I learned to love hip-hop.. so with that said... who onNT, besides my lil bruvva, is down to do some conceptual stuff? I'm into pushing boundaries lyrically, sonically, and structurally. Hell... even vocally..word to this (ONE!

So what's good man.. I had wanted Jewels on that song but I $+@%@% around and finished it before either of us had time to clique up on it. Hell, I did"Where I'm From" with Wize over Plan's brilliance a few years ago and TIME laced me with some BANGERS for my last compilation. And on somereally, those are some of my favorite cuts to date. Real life, I kinda like the feeling of clickin up with ya'll %$%@@* on some Foreign Exchange steez. So holla at me...

This joint. You did ya voice liked that based off that deep as voice in the recent Batman movies, right? I'm trying to think and I don't recallthis scary *@$ type voice in the Batman movies or animated series other than Scarecrow.

I screwed it after the fact just for the hell of it, but I got the voice from when fam said "I'm not wearing hockey pads!" at thebeginning of The Dark Knight

. Thought that it was cool.. Bale definitely DID lower his voice for Bats as opposedto Bruce. I hated it for most of Begins, but it grew on me.

The value factor is debatable though... like...if I don't go on record and say things like "The[color= rgb(0, 0, 255)]Joe Chill[/color], [color= rgb(0, 0, 255)]I been different[/color] line is a play on the fact that Joe Chill is the guythat killed Bruce's parents, spiralling him down the path of becoming Batman... but it's also literally what my brother told me when[color= rgb(0, 0, 255)]our[/color] mom died, which was the turning point in mylife.", what are the actual chances that some random person is REALLY gonna feel the lyrics the way I want them to? It's a gamble... it reallyis..

++%% what other people think. I feel what you sayin about how many ways can you say that you're cool, etc...

As long as concept !$$! ain't corny, I can ++%% with it. I like music that sounds basic but challenges you to think/only complex when you really sit backand analyze it.

you a jones fam, creativity runs in the blood (Nasir)... its the creative songs people find something new and appreciate... In my opinion you need creativesongs, soul songs, upbeat songs etc ... you need balance and diversity to impress me
