Actually under these new developing circumstances of not getting any significant free agents that would be a bad thing. There would be no reason to give Clarkson a hugely backloaded contract.
So now by the time we get good in a few years we are gonna be dealing with a huge backloaded contract while trying to bring free agents in, while currently today we will have a crap load of money sitting that no one wants.

It's either that scenario or him re-signing for a year then entering restricted free agency again next summer eligible for the regular max.

I remember last year he posted a pic of Lamarcus at some restaurant acting like he was meeting with some FO, but if you did a google reverse of the image it was an old pic of him.
