Do ya think Lebron will consider Cleveland and look to join forces with that young core :smoking. He skipped out during the re-building phase, is now the time?

I think it's very likely if the Heat can't find a way to pay Bron, Wade, and Bosh much smaller contracts going forward. I don't really see much of argument to stay where he is. All I hear is "MIA is so nice" "he'll never leave such a beautiful city like MIA" when in all actuality; it means nothing for his decision to help his legacy and chances to succeed going forward. If he's content with just two championships (which I highly doubt); than his chances of staying are likely. Bosh and Wade are in their 30's. No one on that roster can assist Lebron into staying as efficient has he's been before.

Unless in they're in talks of trading one of the 3, I don't see them bringing anyone one else to help become a better team.

His most relastic opportunity to succeed, is by surrounding himself with very good young talent. And Cleveland has nothing but that. Kyrie, Waiters, Bron, Bennett and Embiid(?) can create havoc for years to come. He can win multiple championships with a roster like that. Could be tweaked a bit, but there's a lot of potential there. Not only is it an opportunity to improve his chances of winning, but he can also mend his ties with Cleveland again. And he can be home in Akron everyday, driving to and from the arena with no problem...and watching his kids take over SVSM 8o :smokin ...

I think you have to be very naive to not give Cleveland a high chance here. He said himself. He said he can see himself playing here again...

This will be a fun two weeks. This may be significant in terms on NBA history:

Lebron, Melo, Wade, Bosh, Duncan, Dirk, Lowry, Bledsoe, Deng, Monroe, Gasol, Randolph, Hayward, Stephenson, Gay, Pierce, Parsons, Gortat, Ariza, Carter....all can be free agents in some form. So who takes paycuts, which aging vets become role players, and are super teams dead?

Wiggins, Parker, Embiid, Randle, Exum, Smart + a handful of intriguing prospects all will be drafted.

Utah, Phx, Cleveland, Philly, Orlando, Detroit all have significant cap-space. Teams that are on the low end in terms of destination will all have the ability to pay good free agents. While NY, LAL, LAC, BOS, HOU, & MIA are pretty much screwed.

We have a leg up on the entire league for once:

1- We have a significant amount of capspace
2- We pick 1st in a loaded draft.
3- We already have a solid young core of Irving, Waiters, etc.
4- Like it or not we have a young star in the making in Kyrie Irving.
5- We own 2 additional 1st round picks next year to facilitate a large trade if needed.

Are you that guy on the RCF forums :lol I could've swore I seen this typed there.

Any of you guys mess with fearthesword, they got some good articles

I give LeBron's chance of returning maybe 5% at maximum. If he does come back, good, but I don't see it happening. Cavs should operate with the assumption that they are building on their own. Get a suitable coach, draft accordingly, and sign quality FAs. Cavs need to address their C and SF position, and I hope they manage to upgrade both positions in this summer.

I think if we dont go with embiid overall, we should go with jabari at 1 and isaiah austin with the 33rd pick. Austin is a true 7 footer with length, only problem is weight, blind in an eye, and mechanics which can be fixed except the eye.

My order is Embiid,Wiggins,Parker............ Jabari is just too much of a liability on defense and our team is already terrible on that end. Also think he has the lowest upside.. Depending on back issues I think Jabari could be great.

Wiggins Is the "Safest" pick to me though

I've read a report saying that the head coach for Cavs is 3 man race with Gentry, Lue, and Blatt.
If those 3 are the finalists, I'd want Blatt.

Gentry has a track record of mediocrity, and Lue has no head coaching experience. Blatt's resume is pretty impressive, being named HC of the year multiple times in 3 different countries and also coaching Russian National team to Euroleague champ.
I'm not sure how European coaches do in NBA, but Blatt sounds like a guy who may translate well from Euro to NBA.

Regarding the draft, I'm still torn between Embiid and Wiggins. If Cavs go for Embiid, they need to grab a SF with their 2nd round pick, and vice versa with Wiggins. It seems there would still be some decent SFs left when Cavs pick at 33rd pick, such as Glenn Robin III and Jerami Grant, so I guess it'd make more sense to pick Embiid then a SF at 33rd.

But I am on the side that Wiggins potential may be a tad higher than Embiid. It'd be much harder to find a usable C at 33rd, but I guess players like McGary may still be available by then. So that's another route.

Wiggins workout today is gonna be crucial for Cavs. From what I can gather about Embiid workout, although the workout itself was a home-run, there might be some concerns with his health. If Wiggins checks out great at both department, he could be the pick for Cavs.

Cavs fans, as a coach how did you guys think Scott was.

Asking as a Laker fan, he's going to be the coach I'm almost positive, and I am also almost positive he is going to suck.

Now my Cavs opinions, Embiid is a no brainer if the back is fine. In terms of Blatt, I've heard he plays very grind it out, slow, etc. I don't know how effective that will be, but he has had success out in Europe. Rather take a chance on a guy like Blatt, than Gentry.

we can pray Warren falls to 33, his stock seems to be falling

According to the Plain Dealer Wiggins workout went very well.

Team was impressed.

We are a week away and the #1 pick remains wide open.

Honestly when Scott was the coach the Cavs were in complete tank mode. He never really got a good opportunity. Don't think he's a bad coach.

Byron scott was brought in to develop great offensive point guards into defensive hounds, he really didn't get the chance with kyrie but products of scott are Chris Paul and Jason Kidd if I'm right. It doesnt get much better than that

Agreed. I thought he was a good choice - but they never gave him a chance. He couldn't do anything with what he had.

One. Week. Away.

I'm sure we're gonna start hearing a bunch of rumors. Don't pay attention to many.

I heard that Philly is sold on Wiggins and really want him. If that's the case then I demand #3, #10 and Thad Young.

Don't do them any favors whatsoever.

Sooo

Embiid is officially out as a #1 pick. Can't take him now.

Wiggins or Parker. Parker works out tomorrow.

Kyrie
Dion
Wiggins
:x
:x
I still feel like Kyrie is going to be are best players in their primes

Kyrie
Dion
Wiggins
Bennett
:x :x :x
The floor spacing for our guards and forwards to attack :x :x

Just saw that Embiid was found to have a stress fracture at a medical by the Cavs. He's going to slide a fair way. Guess that rules him out.
