I'd especially like to hear from Team Racism Card you know who you are.

This is my homegirl's away message...yes she's an ambitious, intelligent, beautiful black woman
embarassed.gif
but I guess that makes her an Aunt Tomika.

"I cringe when ppl confuse being a "strong" black woman with being boorish, abrasive, overbearing, hard-headed, uncompromising, self-centered, and altogether loud & annoying. That does not make you strong. It makes you a person nobody wants to be around. I'm a girl and I don't want that negativity poisoning my environment, what makes you think a guy wants that? Yuck!"

My mother is a strong black woman, she raised three successful kids on her own. I've never seen her need to act like this.

i like what she has to say. she's trying to separate herself from the negative aspects that some people associate with being a "strong black woman". how does that make her an aunt tomika?

It doesn't, I was being sarcastic. I'm a really easy going person and I can't deal with loud, rambunctious women a bheavior many black women have confused with being strong. Peace of mind>>>>>smashing.

Black women, just like black men, feel like they have to develop an over compensating attitude to make up for what they feel are their shortcomings in this kind of society. The boys think being a loud mouth thug is the way, and the women think being a loud mouth ratchet type of female is gonna save them when they ain't doing nothing but cutting themselves away from people who don't like being around all that bull$%% talk all the time. Can't even conversate with folks like that always going off on a angry tangent without staying in the circle of the dialect.
