Why cant she just be a strong woman? How come when a black woman is strong the color of her skin has to be included in her description?
If people are truly trying to seperate the whole skin color issue from society, why do african americans continue to embrace this phrase?

If I was a female Id want to be called a strong woman.
As a male, Id like to be a strong man. Not a strong latino/hispanic man.

I don't personally deal with people who confuse being loud and rude with being strong. It's often been said that the loudest one in the room is usually the weakest.

I'm not sure what type of response you are expecting here. I don't think anyone is going to defend ignorance or equate it with "blackness". What kind of people do you really think we are?

Of course there is confusion if you would use a vague term like "strong" to describe yourself. There's a difference between just saying you are strong (vague) and Anton's quote above where he says his mother was a strong(specific) black women that raised 3 children.

Unfortunately you have a lot of little girls in grown women bodies. I blame it on the decline of the family structure. We need to build family, alot of times it doesn't have to blood, just that common bond that you share.
