Lupe's Sounscan Request

200-300k.

When my little sister gets it as a christmas present, and my techno listening homegirl asks me to burn it for her, I know it has some buzz.
 
Hopefully a lot. I haven't seen that much work into an album in a long time. Realistically... i think 100k - 250k.
 
It was nearly sold out in Target, in Minnesota, and I wasn't in the cities where I usually am.
 
Hopefully he did over 130K. I don't think it matters, it's just that in reality, if talent sells, dude deserves to hit diamond.
 
i say around 150k.

over 200 is a bit of a reach, but as a fan, he deserves over 200k.

Ya'll dudes trip me out when ya'll come in threads about scans sayin' ish like this. It doesn't matter to the consumer because we don'tget paid from it but as a fan of certain artists you don't like that they do well? You wish failure on them? Haven't heard The Cool as thorough as Iwould've liked but from the first couple of listens dude deserves album sales.
 
word... if corporate execs see theres a market for this type of music... we may hear more of it...


plus lupe puts alot of effort into his work... im hoping it plays off for him

its good to see em sell... but damn... yall b beastin for numbers... and we dont need no more lupe's...
 
Not just that(even though I dont care that much about sales, depends on who it is) think of it like this if your fav rapper doesn't sell well the labelwill just make it harder for his next album contract, with a smaller advance and less promo resulting in less exsposure. If that continues and repeats itselfthe rapper will eventually be dropped and/or in debt. Then he aint gonna be makin that much music.

I been wondering this too.

I went to best buy, wal-mart, and target last to do christmas shopping and while looking at the CD's I saw pleanty of Mary J, lots of Jaheim, a good amountof Alicia at Target and Wal-Mart(none at best buy), and no Lupe, all sold out.


Didn't expect that. Did they not ship a lot out or something? It looked like there was a good amount of space set aside for Lupe at Best Buy at least(aboutas much as Alicia), but that doesn't mean they didn't have more of everybody else in the back and only enough Lupe to stock the shelves once.
