Hey guys. I wasn't sure whether to call this "making a poke rRUN" or "turning pro". I wouldnt say i'mturning pro, because if i lose, im DONE. Down to nothing. My problem is I haev no bankroll.. I am on vacation, and have a chance to play poker in a LIVEcash game 24/7, and I feel like now is the time to either basically lose it all or WIN it all. If I do nothing, then, eventually I will have to get a job topay for my lease before I go back home ( i am graduating college, but must take a semester off before grad school, and dont like regular, full time jobs, andi'm already in debt to financial aid and a student loan).... I will be short the last few months, so I will need a job. Or I lose it all, well, then Iwould need a job just earlier,lol.. OR! If i play and do good, I dominate, and I dont need a job at all, get to sit out a year before going to paid grad school(dont wanna explain.).

I have played poker for many years now, and I am not a newbie, a rookie. If ther ever was a time to test your skills, why not now is whta I figure? Tomorrowis the day I plan on starting my poker run. Please, all suggestions about how to play better, make the most of my time and money, or anything else is veryappreciated.

so you have no bank roll and you claim to not be a fish yet you come to niketalk out of all places for poker advice

you will fail

the best advice I could give you is to find a part time job so you could supplement your income and grind the micro stakes/rake back

you don't seem like you know what it takes to play poker for a living so I would suggest you not even attempt this idiotic plan at all

especially if you have student loans to pay back

How much more money do you need. If you need to just double up once you might as well play roulette or something since im guessing your edge in poker isnt bigor its worse then even.

If you need alot more and you plan on getting better your probably going to need to use some money management and not play with the lose it all win it allstrategy.

Or if your options are to get a fulltime job later or play poker, bust, and go fulltime earlier. Why dont you just not gamble it? Keep the money and just get apart time job early. But if you really plan on getting into poker then your going to need some money management because you'll eventually lose it all ifyou always play with your entire roll.

This.

if you truly feel you can win go for it.seems like you already weighed out the pros and cons so i f you can afford the risk of not winning what do you reallyhave to lose .

My father is a pro. You don't know what your doing. Start small. Play small tournaments online to start your bankroll. Then work your way up to privategames then casino tournaments. Good luck.

But dude, he has watched Rounders like 30 times... he knows you have to just goto Vegas and play in the main event if you want to make it.

Hey guys,

I think i made the initial post on Monday and it is now thursday monring, Xmas. I haev played an average aof about 6 hours everyday. Starting tomorrow off iwill be up 450.00 profit. that includes... for those of you that knows poker- losing pocket aces 2 out of three times, and losing 2 out of three FLOPPED sets, while still winning a hundo that day. Last night I played was actualyl my worst day.. Lost 160, came back to win 400. So I think I'm at a good rateobviously if i can stay at this. I think everyone on here understimed me just caues i posted on here, and not what.. a poker site? This is the only messageboard i use.

The question is now.. do i go back to my college town JUST cause im paying rent there, and read out 6 months? OR! Do i live at my parents, and make BANK!?
