For those on NT that have graduated and been through the interview process and are now in the business wok field, do you have your ears pierced?

Is this look detrimental to your chance at the job?

My over all question is: Is it professional to wear studs in the business setting? Is it different in this day and age?

Also what are your thoughs and opinions of male's with ears pierced?

discuss...

^^^I am a manager for Chase Bank (formerly WaMu) and gave up my studs long ago. I didnt wear them thru the interview process but did for about my first year onthe job. Depending on the client I could feel them looking at my Diamonds (maybe it was my imagination, but I dont think so, usually older folks) haha. Eitherway, I made the decision to take them out and havent looked back since. I do however still wear them out casually.

Yes, I've heard to leave them out during the interview process, and that the interviewee looks for that stuff.

Since you dont wear them as much.... do you feel weird about having tiny holes in your ears? I ask casue this might be the route I'll take.

Can't say it has....I have both my ears pierced and I've had 3 major jobs...hell, my currentboss has his upper ear pierced...as long as you don't wear them at work, you'll be fine.....

Not a good look when your not a teenager anymore, and certainly not appropriate in a professional atmosphere.

Both ears pierced. At work they are off, if I go out at night and on the weekends they are back on.

I don't have my ears pierced. I'm not a fan of ear piercings on males... anything besides one piercing in the lobes is definitely very feminine andsuspect in my opinion.

If I had my ears pierced I wouldn't wear earrings to an interview, especially in the "professional world," although it would probably beacceptable in most jobs on a day-to-day basis.

i dont. i been tinkerin with retiring them altogether.

i remember back when my lil brother was sick and we went to the hospital and one of the doctors was some young Jason Williams lookin dude with some cubiczirconia/ steriling silvers jumpoffs .

at first i was like

but then i was like no biggie on some voletta wallace #@$# cuz it's just ear rings and i just wanted to take home a healthy brother.

but when i do work i dont wear any.

Its a different day and age, I'm a business major and I've seen a dude with his cartilage pierced and a girl with a tattoo on her neck ( a little belowand behind her ear).

i think we've progressed in society enuff where it doesn't matter for guys to rock earrings in a job setting....i know my cousin works at a bank andshe's got a tattoo on her

neck....im in NY btw.

even though i dont work in a traditional "professional" business environment, nor are my ears pierced, i'd probably still wouldnt wear em atwork. . .

I don't wear them to work...being black is a minority in itself already... I aint adding to the fire.

I dont wear mine at work...everywhere else yea

Not really professional where i work though(bank) so it really depends on the setting

just go to work however you feel comfortable there are to many rules in society. One thing i hate about humans is judging someone you never even talked to.

At first in a professional setting i strayed away from my earings, but later on i just wore them nobody treated me any different. Anyways im not a fan of earrings, to much to worry about and im already lazy enough.

Real Talk we live in a society that judges way to much. The people who judge the most arent even stable them selfs.

Im the black guy who goes to white partys. Dudes be like you like lil wayne i hit them with the i dont even know who lil wayne is. lol. Or if they say i talklike a white guy i tell them No i do not i speak like a well spoken african american.

Sory about the last part, some dude was talking to me tonight and i just walked away from him. Idiots these days!!!!

Take mine out during the interview process. If I get this job I may wear them the 2nd day, not the first day.

I've got 3/4 gauges and I was hired at Washington Mutual and Apple... I just take them out during interviewing of course...

i work at lockheed martin and men aren't allowed to wear their earings. i personally wouldn't do it even if it was allowed.

I wear mine to work everyday. I don't have huge noticable earrings anyways. Ive been at my job for over a year and people didn't realize I had earringsuntil like a few months after I started working there.

So if they are those huge tacky fake earrings then I wouldn't wear them to work, but if there small subtle studs that dont bring extra attention to u thenI would rock them
