Man ordered to pay child support even though DNA tests prove children not his

Family court is not fair when it come to these type of issues. Majority ofthe time they don't even put anything into consideration from a man standpoint.

depends all on law of the state.......some states if you sign the birth certificate, you're screwed no matter what the DNA test comes out like....I thinkthey have modified this a little to where it only applies to children born before a certain year

SAME thing happened to my cousin.

his girl got pregnant so he married her, they ended up having 4 kids and he noticed the 1st kid didnt look like the other 3. so he got a test and found out hewasnt the father. eventually he felt he couldnt trust her so he wanted a divorce. The judge ruled he had to pay child support for the son that wasnt hisbecause he was the only father the kid knew. what's even worse was the kid is named after him, even though its not his.


He didnt have a good job, and paying child support for 4 kids would've been more expensive if he got a divorce so he ended up staying w/ her.

That's why I hate the state of Illinois, and any other such state that has these types of laws in place. Seriously. And all the other statesthat us Fathers are still in the middle of one of the biggest class action lawsuits that nobody has ever heard about.

I signed the Birth Certificate because I thought it the right thing to do. Because I was over 18, the nurse did not bother to let me know that, under thetriplicate on the LAST page, the stipulations and rules were lsited. Not the first page. The LAST page. I looked on the back of the first page AND the secondpage before I signed (it was on a clipboard). Nothing. The LAST PAGE, which is the one she gave to me after I signed says something like "Normally, youhave the right to sue for custody... by signing this form, you waive that right... blah blah blah"... I don't think I've ever been as mad as I waswhen the lawyer told me I could NEVER bring suit to my daughter's mom, but she could AT ANY TIME BEFORE MY DAUGHTER TURNED 18, and I really could donothing about it...

@$%% these !#%$*!+, and the punk $$+ fathers that MADE them create the laws this way (because we all know people who are shady and stereotypical deadbeats...)

I remember reading a case like this not too long ago. I don't agree with the Court's rationale but I think the main reason courts rule this way isbecause many judges adhere to the view that as long as someone other than the system is paying for the child then the court will maintain the status quoregardless of whether that person is the father or not. The problem I have with this view is that it doesn't force the biological father to step up and beresponsible for his child, and this view allows women to manipulate the system to where as long as they can trick a dude into believing he's the fatherthen that guy is stuck paying for the child he didn't father.

In some states that is the state of the law. I remember writing a paper in my second year of law school on this topic and I know that in Oklahoma if the guy doesn't contest paternity within 2 years of the child's birth then he is the child's father.
