It's white ppl too complaining on behalf of Asians. I just don't get the extent of that.

I definitely mention how the Asian male gets played in Hollywood built for something like this I'd rather let them build their argument.

Talking to my roommate, he says Asians would rather not say something unless they know they will be backed up by another group.

i read an article by Jay Kaspian Kang about that Asian cop that convicted in the nytimes that gets into this.


if i rememeber He kind of intimates that many asians, think that if they stay quiet and keep their heads down they might also get to be white.



it seems crazy as a black person, but the irish and italians got accepted into white privlage so maybe asians think they are next in line.

People just tired of the "White Savior" Trope

White Savior is usually a displaced white European, of noble descent, who ends up living with native tribespeople and not only learns their ways but also becomes their greatest warrior/leader/representative. Extra points if he woos The Chief's Daughter along the way; an unfortunately common variation that perpetuates into present-day media is that she will continue to love our hero even if he is directly responsible for the death of her husband, brother or even father.

I don't know a lot about Iron Fist. But I know the last games I played he was featured in the character sounded Asian. Spiderman Friend or Foe and Ultimate Alliance 2.

Not really savior. This is straight up appropriation and arguably white washing.

It's his origin but Osh just stated a pretty obvious comparison. Martial arts, the location, etc. is all heavily Asian themes so to speak. They just turned this in to one of those white guy happens to be the best at your thing scenario.

On the outside it's seen as a white (rich) guy dominating and being the hero of something over all Asians. It's Tom Cruise and Keanu in Ronin/Last Samurai.

Danny Rand's super rich businessman father once visited a mystical city of immortals, K'un Lun, somewhere in Asia (it's really not clear if all the ppl are immortal to be honest). The portal to the city opens every 10 years. Dude takes his wife and son to go there and his business partner. They gotta hike through snowy mountains to get there. Think it's in the Himalayas. Danny's dad is a bit crazy to get there and dies after being betrayed by his partner who ditches them cuz **** is too treacherous. Then his moms sacrifices herself to save Danny as she's killed by wolves.

Danny ends up in K'un Lun, is taken in and trains to be the Iron Fist for I guess a decade and more. He's an outsider obviously and just a kid at the time. He eventually becomes one of the best fighters there and does the trials and final test (fight a dragon that gives you the power) to become the Immortal Weapon Iron Fist. Naturally he has rivals who feel he doesn't deserve to be there. Danny does it and instead of being the city's champion chooses to go back to America and get revenge on dude who betrayed his pops and caused his parents to die. Goes back, reclaims his dad's billion dollar company, kills dude, and that about it That's his origin.

Most of his villains are NYC street criminals or martial artists from K'un Lun (yeah they found a way to get to America without waiting for the portal to open) that hate his guts.

Arguably.

As far as fighting he'd beat all of them. He doesn't have super strength like JJ or Luke. Isn't indestructible like Luke. Doesn't have super senses like DD.

He does have the agility, better fighting technique and his iron fist which has been explained as a bomb hitting your chest.
