You shouldn't associate the term with that. It is actually meant as a compliment. But even though it's meant as a compliment, I think it's inappropriate. Sort of like how it would be a compliment if you heard a guy talking about how fat a girls butt is...at the same time it's just not appropriate. I can see exactly why it makes you feel uncomfortable. It's hard to put into words though.

Maybe it's where I'm from.. in Michigan I always associated them with Westland girls

.. And then living in NYC the way that dudes say it is not respectful in any way at all.. same with friends who use the term. It's always in a negative way.. then I do the obvious cough and they say "you don't count"

I guess in general I'm not comfortable with people calling others names like that because of their race. I think it's really ridiculous and terms likethat are thrown around way too loosely

Not at PITT it doesn't. Also, just like other slangs or phrases, u have touse it in context. U can't just be talkin bout pizza then throw one of them terms out of the azul. It has to be used in reference to women, sex, etc.
