I always considered it a derogatory term. It goes along the lines with other terms like chickenhead, chica, etc... That's just my opinion, but i rarely useslang anyways...

I would laugh SO HARD if someone said that to me (well technically I guess they couldn't because I'm 1/2 asian too, but still). Whenever a guy sayssomething lame to me I just stare blankly at them or smirk a little in the hopes that they feel stupid.
