Going to Maui next week and i wanted to know from previous visitors and locals...any good must do activities or places to see?

Was there early May.

Thought Road to Hana blew. Totally overrated. Black sand beach was interesting to look at, but not worth the drive. Didn't see the volcano (BIL/SIL wentand their pics looked kinda cool) cuz after the Road to Hana, didn't feel like driving the curvy road to the volcano.

Maui was just ok. Not as much to do as Oahu, but not as pretty as Kuaui. I prefer W. Maui over S. Maui, even tho the nicer resorts are down in S. Maui cuzthe W. Maui ones are ocean front and not set back a little bit like the S. Maui ones.

Warren & Annabelle's was the clear highlight of the island. It's a magic show. "Annabelle" is just this piano ghost that's kindalame, but Warren is frickin amazing and hilarious.

There are quite a number of good restaurants, but they tend to be pricey.

ill be going to maui next week too

is there anything else to do?

last time i went i stayed at the resorts at kaanapali. very nice area. very touristy though, My fam and the workers were the only filipinos there haha

lol @ the hana road.

what's good on maui? affliction, tapout, rvca - i hope you train brah.

Was in Maui last december. It's kinda like the third world part of Hawaii. That road to Hana is over rated, but i was there for a week so i did it. Ididn't know this until some cab driver there told me, but it got an 8:1 guy to girl ratio.

So plan lots of stuff to do lol. I'm in no way an outdoorsman...but it isn't a bad idea to kinda hike and find water falls and stuff. I don't smoke, but there is this hippy town on the early part of the roadto hana....indulge yourself if its your thing. Other than that beach it. I found the master electric box to the hotel i was staying. So at night wheneverything would shut down, me friends and I would switch it on and chill and drink in the hott tub. The hotel was on the beach so it was tight. I live justoutside NYC, and I never see stars. But any night in Maui just look up....

There were a few bars/clubs/shops in this one area kinda. I forget the names but you can def. have a good time. For some reason though everything is reallyoverpriced in Maui. More so than the other islands. But just remember when u are straight chillin...u are 2000+ miles away from Cali...in the middle of theocean.

lol. paia is a hippy town i guess. it is the maui equivalent of haleiwa without the shave ice stands.

lahaina has the tourist/nightlife.

when you go to hana, make sure you bring everything you need because there is pretty much one store to shop at (hasegawa general store) and it's superexpensive. there are some super nice beaches on that stretch if you know where to go. i had to live in hana for 10 days and it got very boring very quickly butit is a beautiful spot. if anyone gets car sick. make sure they take some dramamine before the drive.

ok cool, i will have a full tank and snacks

Seems like you guys didn't have a good time in Maui, I had a blast. It's a really chill place. I stayed in Kihei where the surfing was great, it was myfirst time. Cafe Kihei was the best breakfast spot and really decent prices. Didn't do the road to Hana because like you guys said, i heard it wasoverrated. Went on a snorkeling tour to Mokolini which was really fun.

It all depends what you wanna do, and how much money you're willing to spend. have fun.

how many days are you staying? if you can, hop on an inter-island flight to oahu. TONS of things to do there.

i just got back from oahu this week and snorkeling was one of the highlights of the trip. i hear snorkeling is better in maui because there's a lot lesspeople scaring the fish away.

I liked the road to Hana, especially the back half of it. Those cliffs go straight down...

Do the sunrise...one of the dopest things I've ever seen/done.

Did snorkeling out at Molokini, which was ok...all I know is I felt like crap and didn't want to be on a boat...couldn't wait to get back to the hotel.

Some of the best sushi I've had to date was over at Sansei which was over in Kappula.

Just explore the island..that's what we did...we got out on the Road to Hana to explore a bit, that was more fun then just driving the road.
