Basically...I very vaguely remember the plot of films I've seen. I'm watching the last hobbit movie's special features and remember like nothing from the LOTR films

People often tell me important things about their lives and open up and I just forget about it later on. Actually caused a lot of problems with my ex girl.

It's weird because I can get A's in my science courses, which requires memorization. I can recall events from childhood with a photographic memory. I DJ and have a library of music stored in my head (track titles and artists, what mixes well with what.)

But I still feel like I have memory problems with certain things. Idk man do you guys remember something after just one viewing? Do you dudes forget **** people tell you?

I think the thing with me is that I need repetition to get things down. And even though I do well in my sciences, honestly I forget a lot of the info once my exams are over.

Is this normal? In before RIP.

We have this trash bin in our minds for "useless" information. Maybe yours gets emptied quite often?

iono sometimes its just how we absorb informations...

i can't really remember anything about the documents i did at work last week, yet i can remember lectures years ago in college...

i learn and retain informations better when someone tells it to me, instead of looking over things on my own...more auditory learnings, i guess?

I've done research about this and wrote a paper

simply put, you're fine. Its, just your personality

Memories are subjective.

I remember petty **** from 20's ago.

I can't leave the hose without having to run back in for something like a cell phone, wallet or keys :lol.

Like 75% of the time I leave one of those 3 things in the house after doin a mental check tomake sure I have everything.

I only forget people's names.

people would come up to me to start a conversation & i'm over here trying to remember how I met them...

I'm with you OP. When I was in high school the kids would talk about movie stuff and they start to name all the characters and plots and I just think to myself "Damn I remember seeing the movie but I don't remember all those people and all the things that happened in it." It was always the kids with D averages that remembered ever single thing about the movies and I'd just be like if these ****** studied more or put their brain to something else maybe they'd be doing well in school. Like what someone said earlier, we choose to remember what we want. I'm a B average student graduating from Nursing school going into my last semester of school if that counts for anything

It's a trip man.

I can't remember movie plots for **** generally. Like the next day you ask me what happened in a movie we saw the day before and I only have a vague idea. :lol

Can't remember song lyrics for ****. More so I can't recite them. Doesn't matter if I heard it 1,000 times before. :lol

Peoples names. :{ like I'll literally forget someone's name before I'm done shaking their hand. It can't be memory, it's like I never even catch it in the first place.

Everything else is gold though. Facts, trivia, numbers, places, etc. Especially faces. I never forget a face.

Sometimes just be knowing things off the top of the dome that I didn't eeem know was in there for me to remember.

I've had 3 concussions and can't remember stuff to save my life. People that I've met five or six times I won't know their name, things people told me I said or asked 2 weeks ago. Its real bad.
