For those who are not familiar:
Yes, it does make sense to me and I do subscribe to some of the general beliefs. However, there is a line between MGTOW and good old fashion Misogyny. Unfortunately, MGTOW attracts some of those types and creates a bad name for it. It is not at all about hating women or viewing them as inferior beings. Its about not subscribing to the belief that because you are a man, you are obligated to do anything based solely on your Y chromosome.

Not at all. Those are the misogynist types that are so caught up in what they believe to be faults of women that they can't see the faults in themselves.
I have a girlfriend, and we've been dating for almost 4 years (anni in april.) Not because society wants or dictates that I have a girlfriend, but because I want one. However, I don't want to get married. In being together 4 years, many people have asked us when we'll be getting married/having kids/etc.
The answer is always "We're not thinking about it" because we don't want those things. That's not to say that we won't ever, but we've had hours of conversations discussing what we want out of our relationship, and we've concluded those things simply don't have a place in our lives (yet....granted, I'm 22 & she's 23.)

I think it's about ignoring what society expects of you and doing what works for you, which could be radically different. Most of the guys in it are men that don't want to get married and some men that don't even want to date period.
