how did my thread backfire? i'm sure misterP wasn't too concerened by my statement, but you seem to be. smh at myself for

I don't think it is bad to appreciate the hard work that goes into NT since we all spend so much time on here. But I don't think itdeserves a post about it either. You guys are mods and admins because you wanted to be so getting to that position is appreciation enough in my opinion. Ifsomeone disrespects a celebrity then I don't really care because I don't know them and everyone is entitled to their opinion. But your right it doestake courage to say something positive, but in this case that positivity could be expressed in other ways, because to me it just comes off like a suck upcomment to make. Either way some of you guys are appreciated...Originally Posted by Method Man

Is it so terrible that someone appreciates the sacrifices that staff members make on a daily basis in order to maintain this community?
If someone disrespects a celebrity, somebody you've never met, who's done nothing for you, and likely couldn't care less whether you live or die, you'd probably call them a "hater."
If someone disrespects one of your peers, then that's not only acceptable, it's expected. To say something positive, however, is a sin.
Is life that miserable? Is your self esteem so low that you seriously can't stand to see someone else receive even the slightest compliment?
Are you that mad at the staff members? Is it that serious? Does it make you jealous if someone says something kind about someone other than you?
It's like insulting someone and "earning" a goofy smiley face graphic for your efforts is the reason some of you even get up in the morning.
It takes more courage to say something kind on NikeTalk than to say something negative. That's immaturity shining through.

Step your life game up.
You're a guest here and the only reason there even IS a NikeTalk for you to enjoy is because we have a team of dedicated volunteers who work hard to keep this place up.
We maybe guest but without us there would be no NT now would there?

So yea, Appreciated.
A rent-a-cop is a rent-a-cop.
Who's a rent-a-cop? You can keep that.

Don't pretend NikeTalk would be a great place to visit if there were no staff members around to maintain it. We all know that's untrue.
If someone were to spend their Saturdays volunteering at a park in your neighborhood, if they replaced bent rims and missing nets on the basketball court, ifthey kept the place clean and safe, would you really treat them like they're trying to oppress you? NikeTalk is a private community, but we open it up toour members for free and donate our ad revenues beyond the cost of hosting to charity.
I don't expect people to bake us cookies, but the hate is childish.
Nobody has to prove their independence and manhood by bashing anyone else. If you do, that's more a statement about you than about the person you'reattacking at the moment.

...then I start to feel a little "opressed" as you so put it. Maybe it's my nature. Maybe it's my nurture. I really don't know. But if you take offense to that statement, then maybe it's you. Like I said, if the shoe fits...
