I believe a small percentage of people are actually racist, but the people who are are in positions of power are and it makes it seem that way.
eh, a white racial preference, unfortunately, is a black prejudice...(and everything else not white)
this wasnt just the CEO's preference...or the private companies preference....this was a system-wide code....from the birth of this country to the implimentation of affirmative action (which was absolutely the only way to force these people to stop being prejudice in their hiring practices)
your dating preference is completely different from the hiring practices of a company. There is no law stating you must give white women equal opportunity to date you, there is, however, a law that says a company has to give every applicant an equal opportunity regardless of race and creed.
its funny that anytime i make a comparison for the sake of the argument, you meticulously pick it apart, but when YOU do the same thing, they fall apart on their own....
who you date is much different from an entire country's prejudiced hiring practices which were cultivated and developed through systematic oppression and racism....
im referencing systematic oppression and racism only to argue that it's effects (and some are still in effect) are still prevailant today. You can literally see the outcomes of the system's efforts...i just quoted the paragraph in which you fully and articulately explain SOME of the results of that systematic oppression and racism, which is why it actually surprised me.
eh, i disagree, i know MANY people in NO position of power who are racist. Im from columbus, ohio.....i dont even look black, i look white or hispanic/central american....i've been called %@#*%% plenty of times....when i was arrested, noone asked for my race, i was called in as a black male.
i think when racism resides inside those people of power, it is INTENSIFIED, tho.....and it does make it seem more widespread then it really may be...
but to say "a very little amount of people are racist" is insulting.....
i mean, just 3 years ago at The Ohio State University, some kids changed the little fast food sign-type of banner on one of our lecture halls to say "WELCOME, #@#*%%$"
i mean, it is what it is. it is good to finally find some common ground between us, tho. you were rapidly approaching my least favorite NTer...
