Mos Def and Nas Lyrically

Of course Nas is one of the best Lyricist ever and few can keep up with him. I'm might be in the minority but i definitely feel like Mos can keep up with him when he wants to rap that is. I think Ecstatic was good but could have been better. If Mos Decide to make full album of him just rapping i think it could be on par with Life Is Good or even better. Mos already knows how to pick better instrumentals so that's a win. Just my 2 cents.

But Nas has dropped off lyrically something serious...and the LIG album is further proof that dude strayed away from concept songs, and the creativity was lacking compared to his previous efforts.

Yeah he might be but i personally don't like his flow. In addition i don't think he's as creative as Mos Def. I only listen to Talib when he's with Mos I think Mos brings the best out of him.

What didn't you like about the songs on there and why didn't you feel they were creative enough?

With LIG I did not like the direction of the album, and for it to be a throwback sound to the 90's, the only tracks worthy of that classification would be Locomotive, Reach Out (more 80's), and maybe 1 or 2 other tracks which might of had that feel. 

As in the case with previous albums by Nas, the dude would drop a concept song and rhyme off the concept. for instance, I Gave You Power, Last Words (when he raps about being an actual jail cell), Project Roach, the list goes on with that dude. The creativity with Nas was always there, but with his recent albums the concepts were lacking along with the creativity imo.

I like Nas' verse on that dj khaled/scarface track and his first couple albums and HHID are my favorites. Mos during his time with rawkus was dope and he developed into a more interesting artist.

I used to think this years ago but Talib is not. Mos is lyrically better for example just look at Mos' verse on Thieves In The Night (one of my favorite hip-hop verses ever. Mos kills that and Talib is not seeing Mos lyrically on his best day.

I totally concur that's one of the best verses of EVER! Just off that verse alone I can make argument that not too many are seeing Mos Lyrically

Mos can go play the banjo for the next 20 years and still be a better emcee than Talib. I'm a fan of Kweli btw.

So because Michael Jordan tried out baseball he isn't the best?

Not only is Mos better lyrically, but his flow runs laps around Talib's who cant seem to stay on beat to save his life. He always sounds like he's trying to fit too many damn words in his verses.

The difference between that is Michael Jordan was considered the best before he retired and made an attempt to play baseball. 

Mos wasn't considered the best rapper before he became that alter ego...
