kind of a two part topic here first.from what sport do you think it would be easiest to play at the pro level in another sport? The second part is what pro athlete would be the best in another pro sport?I think most of those strong man guys could be pro bowl linemen with a year or so to work on footwork and some other techniques..for the second part im pretty sure lebron could be a decent DE,linebacker,TE or wideout.what you guys think?

1. Let's not get it twisted, no pro sport is easy. But the easiest seems to be basketball to football, particularly at TE. See Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, and Jimmy Graham.

2. I'd say Lebron at TE.

1. those strongmen have no shot at the nfl, they arent athletes. they have ZERO quickness.

2. Like said lebron would make the transition to football with ease. he would be the best DE, LB, safety, WR, or TE to play the game.

and soccer would be the easiest transition. any pro athlete in the nfl and nba could play soccer, easy game.  but everyone knows damn well a soccer can only play soccer.

Im no soccer expert but dont know why you would say that i doubt most nfl or nba players have the endurance to play soccer or the the ability to even make a goal in soccer unguarded. As far as the strong man comment you made outside of de's most linemen are very slow and dont have quickness at all they have good footwork and are strong and thats about it.of course there is an exception to the rule but for the most part linemen are not the most athletic guys.

Haha what a damn fool, I am not a big futbol fan but I know damn well you're incorrect. You really think the linemen in the NFL can play soccer? They don't even have the stamina to keep going for 90 minutes and you're completely ignoring the skill set necessary.

really i mean outside of a few and i mean a very few db's and wideouts i cant see any nfl player even having the stamina to play college level soccer let alone the skill to play pro soccer. In the nba there would prob be a few more but still a very low % i would think. You guys think any mlb players could make it in another sport?I cant think of any outside of maybe ryan howard but thats prob a long shot .its hard to tell how athletic most baseball players are.Maybe a catcher being a goalie in the nhl or the other way around?

David beckham or any freekick specialist from any soccer team could easily be the most accurate NFL kicker in history and shatter that 63 yard record

reminds me of that reggie bush and beckham vid they had a while back.

That said, that would be the easiest transition from one sport to the other. If not its a hell of a lot more realistic than

any pro athlete in the nfl and nba could play soccer

i wasnt talking about all lineman.  but you guys really dont know what youre talking about if u think they are not athletes.  a lot of OTs in the nfl are freakishly athletic, and all are more athletic than any strongman.

Im no soccer expert but dont know why you would say that i doubt most nfl or nba players have the endurance to play soccer

laugh.gif
you dont think a professional athlete could build his endurance to be able to jog around for 90 minutes straight?

The reason we as a country dont dominate soccer, like every other sport in the world, is because our best athletes play other sports, not soccer. and we arent a 3rd world country

Basketball players get subbed out as well as football players.
Soccer you only have 3 subs per game for the whole team.

Football you sprint or do what you have to in intervals of 8 seconds MAX.

Jogging for 90 minutes? You have never kicked a ball in your entire life.

Go to a local competitive pick up game if they have some around your area and try to keep up for an hour. Most likely you wont even get a chance to shoot.

Im not bashing these other sports because at one point in my life i played them and i watch them all still, but the way you make soccer sound

makes it seem like its the easiest thing to do next to clipping your toe nails

Any athlete who hasn't played soccer since a young age will fail at any semi competitive level regardless of how athletic he is.

It's like saying any nfl or nba athlete could play professional tennis or professional golf. Sit down, shut your mouth, and spare us of your ignorance please.

edit: It has nothing to do with endurance. Any good athlete with the proper training can't build up endurance. It's the skill and technique that are unattainable past a certain age.
