Martyrs was OD but it's also a very well made film.

-Great story/premise
-Good acting/characters
-Very suspenseful
-Really %##@ with my mind and emotions...it wasnt even about the gore. This is an extremely emotionally disturbing film.
-It's very rare a movie makes a lasting impression on me, but this did. I was bothered by it for weeks.


That's what I love about European horror, I feel like they don't give a damn about the audience....this movie would have to be edited for American audiences. It's too much to swallow.

I've been trying to tell NT about this movie, but don't nobody want to see Hong Kong movies, so here's the first 2 minutes of this movie that I found on Youtube. If this doesn't get you hook, then I don't know what to tell you. The movie is titled Protege. It's a true story about the heroin trade, watch the first 2 minutes.

one of the actors ended up shooting the director right before the premier. movie was just out there.

i remember i recommended it to somebody on NT but dont remember who.. never watched it myself

Nah I think I was inspired by High Tension to look up other European horror films

But you a 5$%%# for telling people to watch this and not peeping it yourself.

It's not disturbing for the reason you would expect...I've seen more visually disturbing films. Like I said the combination of suspense and subject matter really got me with this movie. I can't describe it.

im pretty sure i recommended it when u made a thread. i only did cuz i had just seen it on G4 (well a preview of it) and it basically fit what you were looking for.

im not huge on horror movies (unless they are zombie movies.. i love zombies/zombie movies) but i've heard movie is pretty good. i need to watch salo too. just can't find it

Salo is the most visually and mentally disturbing movie I've ever seen. Nothing about that movie made me want to watch it again, and it's the quickest I've ever deleted a movie from my computer. I was damn near ashamed to have it on my hard drive

CWrite, DONT watch Salo. If you value your soul, and dont want a fairly large piece of it to burn and die over the course of a few days, avoid that 'movie.'

it's one of those movies that you don't want to watch, but have to watch and then regret watching it but you can say you've watched it.

i heard the book(s) are pretty bad too

Maybe....I think someone on NT recommended a film and I looked up a bunch of other Euro horror flicks that I loved. It might have been inside or martrys.
