My Opinion After 2008

I really wont mind if JB stops retros, I have and never will buy team j's, but hopefully when JB stops after 08 I have like a 100 pairs stocked up to wear for the next 10 years so I am good regardless. It will actually be fun to take out like 5-10 kicks a year and rock those from DS down to the ground, I am actually looking forward to it.

My opinion about aftr 2008 is that we will read about after 2009. Well thought out post though, its just getting annoying.

I tried to stay out of this thread, but to some of you....
Do you realize that Team Jays for some Models sell thru at or near full price? i.e. The B Loyal. I am not sure who stated above that some of those didn't do too well but you'd be wrong.
Kids today and many who are older than Kids don't relate to Jordan and his playing days, so they (Brand Jordan) create shoes inspired by past Signature shoes, so kids have their own kicks to relate to. Unfortunately for the older heads we didn't have the lower price points to choose from.. unless the Vindicates or Team Jordan 1 or such came out...
What many folks don't realize is this.
You may not see many Team Jays, because you don't usually hang around others who are in the Demo that wears Team Jays...however kids today will wear a Jordan Team Jordan because of the Jumpman before they style a regular Nike B-Ball shoe, because of price.
Unless they are buying a shoe to ball in and with as many choices as you have now with Nike B-Ball.. you can simply wait a sale out to make that purchase.

I think part of the elitism on NT comes from the fact that many of us were around when Team Jordans first dropped an d while the first few models looked sharp, they quickly began to bring out ugly models or takedowns at lower price points.
Team Jordans nowadays are miles ahead of how they were at first, and people/youngsters new to the brand often come in looking simply for "the newest J's y'all got" or "some all black Jordans". To them, there isn't a big distinction between Team and signature models, evidenced by how many people ask "why do these cost $175?" when they pick up a XX2, which is common sense to an NTer.
Basically, Team J's are like a C-Class Benz. Elitists or enthusiasts usually don't cop, but percentage wise that's where MB picks up a huge chunk of its sales.

really i haven't been looking at jordans or interested since the release of the dmps now i don't even see the point of collecting jordans anymore since there is going to be a retro everything u get your grails. Your grails will evently retro some day so whats the point anymore

I fully understand and respect your opinion killerjumpshot,,we have had a series of teams that lead JB to a good amount of sales,,jumpman pro`s,,b`loyals,,9.5`s,,and we are ready for the 12.5`s,,but almost all of us on NT could care less about team J`s,,only a fraction of us care about teams,,i`ll be truth full when people post things on teams i dont bother reading them because i could care less about teams,,retro`s are what really get us,,without retro`s we wouldnt have a JB forum on NT,,but we do have retro`s so we do have a forum,,do you see hypebeasts every where when teams release,,where im from i dont see any,,on the other hand when a retros releases,,im cluttered around hypebeasts,,its because teams arent as hot as retros and that will never change,,overall JB is a brand going down hill with this decision,,but we as people cant do anything about this matter,,we are basicly the consumers in this whole era of hype shoes that started around the mid-late `80s and continued on for more then a decade and going,,JB is a dominant producer among many,,if they really want to do something insainly different with the brand,,well,,they can do it,,its almost as if we are under a spell,,because anything they put out for us to buy as consumers,,were gonna buy it,,?no more retros?,,its a move that could have only been decided by michael himself,,
so my personal thoughts & opinions on the future of JB is this:
2008-2009: JB will make outstanding sales on the 11 packages & the XX3`s
2009-2010: JB will drop a new era of teams that will resemble J`s like the XV`s-XIX`s and will make a smaller percentage of sales from that of the past sales from `08 {as expected}
2010-2011: JB will release more teams but less than the past,,this will result as less sales & less effort into new releaes
2011-2012: JB will be looking like a small company,,like shaq & converse,,the value of the company will decrease leading to many low sale prices on shoes,,less demand,,and less effort,,

so my personal thoughts & opinions on the future of JB is this:

I can't lie..Some TJ's look alright..but i would never buy any.
Since day 1 i never liked them. In the 8th grade around the time that the 9's retroed, we used to call tj's fake jordans.

Packages yeah; XX3's, I dunno. I'm not an insider & I haven't seen the shoe, but just judging from the last 4 signature Jordans, I wouldn't put my money on the XX3's being a huge seller, except for the limited colorway since it'll have the hypebeast allure to it. There's not really an argument about it being the "last Jordan to come out" unless they create that kind of buzz via advertising because the average Joe isn't an NTer & really wouldn't know. Signature Jordans have been second fiddle to retros for a good while now, largely due to JB taking the easy route for turning a quick profit.

Nothing new or innovative going on, but they have "that appeal" to them that will be a huge seller for the brand.

I can't get over how many on this board think they have to keep spending money on shoes wether there's anything out there that they like or not. It's like if your not spending $500 a month on sneakers somethings wrong with you. If there's nothing I like for a year than I won't purchase anything for a year, I don't buy just to be buying.
