- can yall help me out and post pictures of NBA players wearing captains jersey's? ive been looking online all day and can only find 1 picture of Chris Paul. however i can find all the NFL and NHL pictures than i know what to do with.

- even pictures of just the jerseys will do. and hopefully a close up of a single patch would be preferred. im looking for the exact measurments.

- any and all help would be greatly appreciated.......

The captain patches aren't as prevalent in the NBA as the NHL or NBA.

Aside from the Hornets I can't think of another NBA team that uses them.

Can someone explain why the captain patches in the NFL have stars that are colored and others that aren't?

Nevermind, I figured it out:
NFL Stars
Each star stands for one year of being a captain on that particular team. So if they have 2 stars, they have been a team captain for that team for 2 years, last year and this year.

The initiative has been in effect since 2007, the most gold stars that a captain can have right now is 3. Drew Brees & Carson Palmer are examples.

It's not clear why the NFL picked 4 stars-
Perhaps it's because they fit easily.

But a gold star is given for every year that the player is a captain. I do not know what will happen if someone is a captain for more than 4 years. Perhaps the color will change. In any case, as this is the first year of the patch, no one has more than one gold star.

According to Paul Lukas in an article in ESPN Uni Watch from 2007:

....team captains this year will be wearing a special captain's patch on the upper-right chest area (as you can sort of seehere). The patches will be color-coordinated to match each jersey, and the gold star underneath the "C" marks the number of years that the player has been a captain under the league's new captaincy initiative.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the Hornets are the only current team that displays the captain 'C'.

NBA should bring these back. Just to differentiate. Even the "stars" are cookiecutter now.

no need for snark, all those pics are hella old anyway. aside from the Hornets the Celtics jerseys are the only team i can even vaguely remember seeing the captain's C displayed on the last few seasons.

its very rare in the nba, why they would use it for one game then never again confuses me.
