From RealGM.com.

Washington's Caron Butlercame down on top of Pierce's foot as both players dove for a loose ballnear midcourt in the first quarter. Pierce's foot got sandwichedbetween the court and Butler's body, and, after springing to his feet,Pierce hobbled mightily trying to walk on the injury before leaning upagainst a table near the Boston bench

Perhaps this qualifies as paranoidspeculation, but on a day when Celtics forward Paul Pierce underwentX-rays on the foot he injured in last night's victory over the Wizards,it is at least curious that his teammate, backup forward SheldenWilliams, would cryptically tweet the following at 3:20 this afternoon:
@SheldenWilliams: Man when it rains it pours!!! Yall will find out what I mean soon!!!!

The Celtics have not yet released the results of Pierce's X-rays. Stay tuned.

Reports are supposedly coming in that Pierce has a broken foot..

EDIT:

Alreadyreeling from a spate of injuries to key players, the Boston Celtics mayhave lost All-Star forward Paul Pierce for a significant period of timeto a broken left foot, according to a league source.

I hope he makes a full recovery, but not until after the asg so lee can make it in as an alternate

That's too bad. As much as I don't like the Celtics and most of their players, I've always liked Paul Pierce.

Celtics are so done.

This.

That sucks.

Maybe KG's karma isn't satisfied with coming around to just bite him.

Make a full recovery soon please... and beat those Cavs.

I'm curious to see how Rondo performs from all this. A lot of skeptics say he wouldn't be as good as he is if he didn't have the big 3. Well Pierce is out with injury, Allen has fallen off and Garnett is playing on one leg.

Should be interesting.

i think rondo will do fine, the kid has been a beast all year long. he has proven most (if not, all) his doubters wrong this year. obviously, if the celtics are not healthy, they will not have a legitimate shot at a ring this year. i would like to see every team at full strength going into the playoffs.

"May have" "according to a league source."

There's nothing official about this news at all.

Crackpot/rumor journalism at its finest.

Either this is a very complicated X-Ray, or they don't want to disclose the info yet.

X-Rays take like a few minutes.
