I get this but it's one thing to say he can adjust his game and another to say that he never relied on athleticism. They way he played in game 5 is nothing like the real KD

I don't think anyone is saying he won't be effective though. We're just comparing how he was with how he's projected to be post achilles tear.

Anyone think Durant will play Olympics in summer 2020, on a limited minutes restriction? I would think that would be a topic in his rehab and something to shoot for to get a Gage of where he is at. Or at least attend the camp to get reps against NBA talent in practice. Or just show up for training camp going into the 2020-2021 season? The Olympics July 25th, 2020 and that would be well over a year.

When he was a topic in here every day years ago, I wanted to see what the hype was about and watched a game vs the Hawks. He checked in as the shooting guard with around 3 minutes left in the 1st quarter, he checked out with about 8 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. He did not touch the ball not one time, no rebound, no inbound on a made basket, no inbound pass after called play out of a timeout, not giving the ref the ball after a whistle, no deflection on defense --NOTHING. That's when I learned what trolling was.

All fair points. It's basically about if you think the risk is worth the investment at this point.

I'm curious if you were running the Nets or the Knicks if you had a shot at KD even with the injury question mark would you not pursue him? Also, if you were GS, would you not offer him his 5 year max contract?

Really tough questions. Right now I’d say no if I’m NY or BK because I’m a young and upcoming franchise and handing the keys to a 30+ guy coming of a career altering injury doesn’t seem ideal.

If I’m GS, I might be a little more inclined to since there’s no real alternative to replacing him anyway.
