'' Long term with Nike '' sounds like code for, geez i love Nike so much id give up a small fortune just to have my own piece of nubuck with a swoosh on it :smh:.

No one can touch Nikes marketing or reach , not adidas / reebok / UA etc....

Cut it out, you got two checks in front of you, Nike for 3mil or Reebook/Adidas/UA for 15 mil, I bet it's not even a question which contract you sign.. I love Nike/Jordan till the day I die but if the money is right like dude above said hell i'd sign with sketchers with the quickness. It's not like you're getting a sig line like KD, Bron, or Kobe anyway.

Just buy yourself out like Kobe did after you get the money of course. Still don't get Kobe though, buying out Adidas to keep making ugly shoes with Nike :smh:

Kobe didn't buy himself out from Adidas. He signed a 6 year deal in 96 for 6 years $48 million which expired in 2002. Hence him rocking Nike and other brands (Wore Converses and Iversons) in the 2002-2003 season. His Nike deal was actually a little less than his Adidas deal (5 years, 48 million).

I love Nike but I'd take the money. You have to be a fool to be loyal to them if you see millions sitting in front of you.

You seriously sound like a slave to a brand right now.

Really? Who has better marketing / reach / influence than Nike? What sneaker company? It's not about being a slave to a brand, it's common sense. If Nike / Adidas / etc are all throwing you the same amount of money who are you going to sign with? I'll wait.

You sign with who will support you best, that's who, that's REAL common sense.
Unless you have a sig, Nike does not pay you any more than any other company, and their marketing and advertising is for them, not the player. It's has already been stated that Kobe Bryant signed for less with Nike, than his deal was with Adidas. The reason for that was because nobody was offering any more than Nike. Bryant wasn't really going to sign with Reebok, nor Converse, then after the Colorado incident, they were happy that he didn't sign with them. Nike had been flirting with him since he was with Adidas. Kobe Bryant does want to be liked by people like you, fans of Nike. So quite obviously people who need to be liked, will sign with Nike. Others, those who are looking to create their own legacy, see Derrick Rose, will sign with another company. If Stephon Marbury had better social skills, then being able to deal with coaching, then also being a bit more media savvy, dude would have flipped this whole thing upon its head. He was right when he fired a shot at LeBron in saying, I'd rather own, than be owned.
When you sign with Nike, they own you.
Personally, I would not want to deal with that.

Tom Brady agrees

UA needs to release some P.E.'s I wouldn't mind a Derrick Williams pair. I expect a more this year from them.

Surprise Barnes and Rivers went to Adidas.

Not just that, Nike is extremely cheap with these players. Most players that are signed with Nike don't get a penny. They get an "elite" account for online use and they get monthly allowances at NTs. They basically pay them with product.
