Need a little help marketing my employer's website vol. eCommerce

So I got a job last year basically doing data entry, a little graphic design, and some web design to build my employer's eCommerce website from the ground up. He's pretty computer illiterate so anything I do is an upgrade.

However, there hasn't been much action. Was wondering if anyone could throw some tips my way on how to get some exposure, what works vs. what doesn't, etc.

We sell electrical equipment to contractors, wholesalers, electricians, etc.

Asking us to help without more specifics won't do much since every company has a different market and target audience in mind
