I have lime green 990s on the way...I can't mess with 991, 2, or 3. Hadn't seen these yet though, thanks for posting.

The upper is ok- but that new midsole doesn't look as good as the 992.

To me they def look as though they were trying to go back to the 991...
Not as pleasing to the eye but they do look to be more functional than the 992...Especially without that Abzorb SB crap in the heel that turns to mush after acouple hard wears...
That to me was the major difference between the 991 and the 992...The 991 was a shoe that I used for running and going to the gym basically all the timebecause it was built like a tank while the 992 was a shoe that I grabbed right out of the closet to wear just for lounging around the house or running errandsor some such because it really did start to feel like mush if I had a good 1 mile run in them...
It will be nice to see how this model stacks up to the last two pairs though...

be on the lookout for a few dope paris of "lifestyle" 993's.... mr993bb, mr993bo or sbo, or something like that... the bb is black with somehints of carolina blue... and the bo or sbo, i forget what the color code exactly is, is black with some gum sole... they both lookin pretty good though.. beenwearing my sample pair of 993s for a while now... they wear good. i still prefer the 992s, but the 993s are dope.. best believe i stacked up on the 992gl'sthough.. i just like that shoe a liiiiiiiiiitle bit more.. i had to get a grip before they would be unavailable and i could only scoop the 993s... anyone onhere mess with 580s?

took some digging to find this post. We just got these in at work...I've been waiting for NB to mess with some color in their 99 models.
I prefer the 992, but hopefully they'll experiment with more color on the 993 now that it has become a pretty popular shoe

They're just not that comfortable. I haven't had the chance to pick up 993's yet, but ive seen them in the store, held them in myhand, and they seem like a great, comfortable shoe. You can definitely tell NB heard feedback from all the 991 fans who were telling them to go back to theolder style.

Ima stick with the standard colors...To my the the 900 Series shoes are more about function over style (Even though I wear a pair of Gray 992's everyday)...
I'm getting some 993's in the coming weeks, depending on how soon I can sell my Eminem Jordan II's, but when I tried them on they were super lightcompared to the 992's...I mean you can really notice the weight while they are on the foot...I'll post up a hardcore review when I get them and startwearing them...

^Please do. If they are indeed more comfortable I will most likely pick up a pair(grey only). But i still firmly believe the 991 is thee perfect mix of styleand comfort.

Ok, for me, I think the 993 is the best out of the trio. The 991 wasn't cushy enough for me, although the heel fit was excellent. The 992 had a good amountof cushion, but the heel fitment and overall fit was loose and poor. The 993 has a good amount of cushioning and support, and the heel fit is excellent.
The 991 and 992 have better classical styling, but the 993s are my favorite.

Talked to a NB rep yesterday..said there are only a couple differences from the 992 to the 993. says they just tried to keep classic with a little bit bettertechnology

crazy that i found this thread since its almost two years since last post, but i got recently got this and i think they are terrific however i do wish to try to find the NB 991...
