I want opinions on this situation.

I bought a used car on Saturday. As I'm signing the paperwork they mess up the rims with a chemical they were spraying on the tires.

They offered to paint the rims black, I need to make sure they aren't going to just paint over the damaged rim. I'm thinking of just as in g them to get me new rims.

What would you do in this situation?

If they don't make this right can I take them to small claims court?

Was this a big dealership or a smaller used car lot?

I highly doubt they're going to send those OEM wheels to a body shop to have them repainted professionally. Push for them to swap your damaged wheels with similar ones from their lot or give you a cash discount for you to replace them yourself.

It's a smaller used car lot. Those two are the routes I'm gonna go. Swap or cash to replace. What should I do if they give me trouble be on doing those?

Looks like they used a degreaser which stripped off the finish. If you can live with it, tell them to take a couple hundred off the sale price of the car.

They need to give you new rims or they need to give you a check for new ones that you find. Try tire rack or jc whitney websites. Anything less than cancel the purchase. Garueentee they'll do whatever they can to keep the sale

What had been echoed more or less. Price an OEM wheel front Chevy, get a check and kept it movin

bout it, da wheel isn't "ruined" persay...

if u get it painted in a clear coat da ish should go away.

Nope the chemical took the enamel off of the rim so they pretty much ruined them. And don't want them to paint them and I dislike them even more.

have them clear coat da wheels...make them accommodate you.

Dont forget to get compansated (if you take the check) for what the "tire shop" will charge you to dismount, mount and balance your tires. They may even charge you for lift time.

Be firm about them replacing all the wheels with similar ones. Places like those have crazy connections for wheels, etc... Just make sure you get the same tires and they balance them correctly.

Under no circumstances do you have them 'paint' the wheels for you. If their detailing guy is running the wrong kind of wheel cleaner, you best believe that they're gonna have some other hack Plasti-dip those wheels in black for you. :smh::smh::smh::smh:

Was gonna say it's probably cheaper for them if they just get them through their connects but they let you beat them to the punch by not proposing a solution.

Listen to this man.

Get your **** how you bought it. You didn't pay for painted wheels so don't accept them as replacement.
