They used straight acid on that wheel. If properly done this wouldn’t happen. Wheels are ruined

They can be refinished, yes. You can’t polish that out. I made that same mistake years ago and burned some wheels with acid. Tried every method possible to fix them. Won’t happen gotta be refinished

I bought a used car on Saturday. As I'm signing the paperwork they mess up the rims with a chemical they were spraying on the tires.

They offered to paint the rims black, I need to make sure they aren't going to just paint over the damaged rim. I'm thinking of just as in g them to get me new rims.

What would you do in this situation?

If they don't make this right can I take them to small claims court?

How long does this process normally take. How long will I be out of my car?

Leave the keys on the counter and get your money back. Depending on his response you may want to spit in his face

It’s going to cost you more than you just getting them fixed...unless you do those television court shows.

See if you can get your wheels powder coated.

Did you sign all the paperwork and stuff already? If so. Did they give you a “we owe” paper with a manager signature saying they will fix it? Better get one asap before they start playing dumb. The easiest way to fix this problem is to tell them to switch your rims with another malibu if they have one. That would be the best option. If they dont have one. Maybe they go to the auction this week or next for another malibu and tell them to put those rims on yours when it gets to their dealership. Main thing you dont want is them to play stupid. Especially if you dont have a we owe.

I did make them write on the we owe before I left with the car on Saturday. I'm supposed to call on Friday to see what they figured out.

Makes me not want to buy from a small dealership anymore. This is only my second car. Had my 05 impala from 09 until now. You live and you learn.

Roughly how much? Current market trend is in your favor not theirs. You have the upper hand. Sedans aren't selling and sit on lots because consumers are buying crossovers

Painting rims looks good at first but I've ner seen that **** last. Even powdercoat effs up if the applicator isnt a pro at it. Either replace or get compensated that paint clearcoating crap is a no go.
