NEW YORK - TOKYO is having a great summer! Lots of music events and parties for us this season. We've been making new friends and affiliates all summerlong! This Thursday we're throwing another party, NEW YORK - TOKYO ELECTRO ROCK NIGHT. This party will also serve as a farewell party for our good friendRyo Nagasawa, who helped with NYT in the past. Soichiro Migita and Dai Sato will be providing electro and rock sounds with DJ Shinnosuke and DJ Keiichirothroughout the night! There will be $3 Asahi Beer all night long!
Dai Sato (Tokyo) - A Japanese screenwriter and musician. Best known for his script work for Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Ghost in the Shell: Stand AloneComplex, Wolf's Rain, Eureka Seven, and Freedom to name a few. Dai runs his own company, Frognation, which includes electronic music label Frogman Records.Graduate of Musahino Art University.
Soichiro Migita (NY) - sound designer, mixing/recording engineer, composer and music supervisor. His collaboration work with young talented filmmakers,musicians, photographers and dance performers in NY vary. He also works on project basis with multiple organizations. A true YMO generation enthusiast.
Ryo Nagasawa (NY -> Tokyo) - Until Aug. 27th, the film program officer at Japan Society. After 11 years of a happy life in the US, she is leaving tostart a new life in Japan. Working for Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival this fall, she'll join her family-owned cinemas in northern Japan.Ryo was New York-Tokyo's very first intern who helped make New York -Tokyo Film Festival 2003 happen.
