It looks like everything we had been hearing over the last year and half has turned out to be true as word is now coming out that Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of 2K Sports, has approached the NFL about a licensing deal for the 2013 NFL season. It was rumored last month that the NFLPA, the official association representing players of the National Football League, were already in preliminary talks.

While nothing solid has been worked out, all the pieces are falling into place. Take-Two has sold of several major assets - including their mega-distributor JOAG in Cincinnati, Ohio in order to raise capital. We'll keep you updated as the details emerge.

Madden sales have been steadily declining on a year-to-year basis..

Maddens been down hill since 07. but 2k games can be hit or miss. The Show > 2K.

man i bet the nfl is asking themselves why they did that dumb #*% deal with ea....lol thats what they get for. competition is always good buisness when you get a piece of both pies...

but if 2k does get the nfl license back, i dont think their first game will be that great. they havent made a football game in 4 years correct?

2k5 is still light years ahead of the latest Madden.. all they need is a little bit polish and its a wrap.

2K football was VERY unrealistic. Madden is glitchy and it has it's FAULTS, but 2k football was just bad - despite being incredibly fun. 10 yard dive tackles and charged up special juke moves?? Come on man.. after freshman year of high school, I had no need for NFL Blitz type games that pretend they weren't. I used to regularly get 10 sacks a game with Peppers, or the Freak, or what have you. @+@# was just EASY man

NFL 2K5 is still the best NFL game I've ever played.
The last time I got excited about a new NFL 2K game, Madden extended the license. I won't keep my hopes up.
