A lot has changed since 2K5 dropped.

Take-Two, especially 2K, is a company that has spread itself thin more than EA has.

For them to sell major assets is a sign that they don't have money. This game has to succeed for Take-Two. If it doesn't, it leads the way for them to be bought out or shut down completely.

One bad release will not shut down a company as big as Take Two, and I doubt it will weaken it enough for it to be a takeover target. Plus the only company that has the money to spend on Take-Two right now is Activision. Finally let us not forget this will be a annual release, so a sequel will bet out within 12 months.

2k wouldn't have more incentive to make a more polished game, just as Madden has over the last few years because they're the only ones making it.

NFL really dropped the ball in allowing game companies the opportunity to get exclusive NFL licensing rights, unlike the NBA.

Case in point, NBA Live 10 was a very good game and a legitimate argument could be made that it was better than 2k10.

2k then responds by making arguably the best bball game ever (based on reviews, as I have yet to play it

) in NBA 2k11 the following year.

I can agree with this.  I just want an option though.  I haven't enjoyed Madden in awhile.  I feel like the competition will at least wake up the Madden developers and force them to advance Madden in a better direction.  And go get 2K11 my man

at people saying 2k5 was the best football game... game was wayyy arcadey. I'm not saying it wasnt fun, but some of the stuff in that game were just impossible.
