True, but the AFC was weak at the time so it wasn't quite as impressive just to get to the SB out of the AFC. Not trying diminish him, just something to keep in mind. Definitely carried those teams

Elway did more with less than any other QB in the history of football
I think Elway could be in discussion for GOAT IMO; those 80's teams he put on his back were so inferior to the teams he beat to get to the SB and the teams they faced he couldn't play D also
I think if he could have won one of those SB's in the 80's, a lot more ppl would consider him GOAT.True, but the AFC was weak at the time so it wasn't quite as impressive just to get to the SB out of the AFC. Not trying diminish him, just something to keep in mind. Definitely carried those teams

was there ever a year he was "supposed" to win it tho?I loved Marino too but it hurts not having one SB
Well, he did have Terrell Davis and Shannon Sharpe in those super bowl wins.
Marino is in my top 5. Rings are important but it doesn't impact my QB rankings.
1. Montana
2. Peyton
3. Marino
4. Elway
5. Brady
Nah, and Young is my fav QB ever...Young over Marino?
