Sproles is 31 already though, isn't he? How can his football years be four years younger than his actual age? :lol

There's a lot of wear on them tires of MJD. I think both are well into the downside of their careers. Sproles was lucky to be in N.O. where Brees knew how to spread it around, because a little guy like that can't take constant pounding. Sproles will still have flashes, but I don't know about consistently being a guy to count on.

Sproles snaps aren't he doesn't have the normal wear and tear of a 31 year old back. He hardly runs the ball and when does its not between the tackles, he makes most of his plays in open space and avoid significant contact.

MJD has spent most of his career running between the tackles at high carry rates.

I think what most people fail to realize with the Raiders is that they had no one of talent. You could pretty much consider them a expansion team as far as the roster goes.

Reggie has done a fine job of getting players who are still able to contribute but everyone who he signed was done so to be replaced. Look at all the contracts, he set it up so all the drafted talent can compete and ultimately take over in turn all the vets can be cut with no cap damage.

All the media sees is Raiders Raidering.

Spot on. The moves are short-term to get them to a point where they can compete while they bring in young guys that will make up the core of their team in the future. By the time 2, 3, 4 years go by, they'll be able to cut these vets all while being cap friendly. It will set them up to supplement the talent they get in the draft these next few years with some proven guys that will hit the market in the coming years.
