A dude is willing to sell his galaxy foams to me for 600. He only wore them twice. I'm planning on rocking them so I'm pulling the trigger and copping.

Ok, so we're pretty much in the same age group. I think it ruins it because you know as well as I do, when they first dropped foams were the real "shoeheads" type shoe. If you bought kicks, you definitely wanted to have them despite the price tag (at the time, they were the most expensive shoe on the market). This galaxy print is just another gimmick in the long line of gimmicks nike is using to get people to go crazy and spend their money (as well as making them limited). My perspective is simply this, I always look at these as basketball kicks. So anything that deviates from what the original color (mostly, some new cw are cool) just seems ridiculous to me (i.e Galaxy foams, all star shoe yes, but has nothing to do with Penny besides the model, i.e "Swingman Lebrons" there is NO connection between Lebron and Ken Griffey Jr.). This is my opinion, obviously people like these "gimmicky" ideas and they buy it. All I'm saying is from my POV it takes away from what I know the kicks were, so if you were to put it in the frame of a piece of art, it's like a painting that is getting reproduced over and over with varying colors, which in turn devalues what made the original special to being with. As usual some will say I'm an "old head who is hating". I say I'm not, I simply buy what I like and let everyone do them, I just remember what it was the first time around and it wasn't this. Oh well *shrug*

that was a good read. i remember when the pennys first dropped, i was a sophomore in hs. one kid in our school had these and i was like wow, thoes look awsome, i need a pair. i was just into jordans then but they were the first non jordan i had to have. i finally got the 07 release and loved the shoe in general as it seemed well constructed and very durable. i have not yet got the galaxy foams, im still waiting for them to get off there 1000 high and so on. it worries me that u can scuff the galaxies and have them show white underneath! so to satisfy my hurt at not getting the foams right away, ipicked up some kd galaxies. i think they look just as nice.
but yes, i love the foams, i just wish they werent hyped to death.

If Nike does re-release them they should certainly drop them as a pro. These customs are gorgeous the black swoosh breaking up the print and the red accents make them better than these IMO

@voiletuniverse i think the galaxy's are the first foam made that way, i mean that the design isnt really actually part f the foam.. its like a wrapped foam like said before..
i know the eggplants arent like that at all, when they get scuffed or scratch its just scuffed.. its still maintains its color...

and i too think they would look better as pros vs ones . . . never thought i would ever say that about ANY colorway of foams, pros or ones.
