What's the threshold on that though? If you mark something as 3lb and 8 ounces and it's one ounce heavier would they actually hold the package?

I don't think box size and ounces really matter, it's the same cost until the next lbs and from recent experiences, the receiver does pay extra for packages marked under weight.

On another note, I can't stand sellers that ship shoes via standard parcel. If you calculate the price to ship the shoes via standard parcel plus tracking, then the price ends up being similar if not the same as using Priority Mail.

lol I've done it a few times. Sometimes when you can't find a tts box and have a big *** box or shipping multiple kicks it's the way to go. Unless it's specified when buying or selling its all fair game
