yeah the mudguard is deifnitely not black, but obsidian (or maybe dark obsidian). i believe those saying it is black are wrong. they are even listed onflight club as "white/varsity royal/obsidian". i always wondered why the heck they call it obsidian since obsidian is black volcanic glass, butit's always been navy blue. it makes no sense, and dark obsidian is not blue enough but not close enough to black. nothing matches with it, really. ihate it.

that said, that mudguard could possibly be dyed or painted without too much hassle. if these ever get down to the $50 range like a lot of recent 90s have, Iwill take on that challenge.
