Nike Huarache ankle strap?

I recently purchased a pair of Nike Huarache's and after wearing them once I have begun to notice a hole forming in the rubber strap, and I think that if I were to wear them any more the strap is just going to eventually snap. Anyone else had this problem?

You should specify if it's the basketball, running, or trainer Huarache.

**WARNING**. Diehard Nike Fan, but not impressed with the Air huaraches recently released. I purchased the "scream green" huaraches in a size 12, my true size; And in three days the ankle strap broke. I assumed it was due to the size so I ordered a size 13, and after 1 month, and under 10 days worn lightly with no excersize, the ankle strap once again broke. Great feeling shoe, but I would not put my trust in the ankle strap again, or huaraches again.
