So I just finished my high school basketball season playing in the Hyperdunk Low 2017 featuring React cushioning. Here are my thoughts:

1. Traction
For me, if a shoe doesn't have good traction, I immediately dismiss it as a performance shoe. Looking at the circular pattern, I had high expectations. The traction is... average. Average bite, occasional wiping. Little to no squeak. And it held up as well, so you should be fine using it outside. One game (the first I played in the shoe) someone put their foot under mine and I knew the pattern ripped, but to my surprise the almost delicate appearance of the pattern deceived me.

2. Upper
The breathability of the upper is adequate. Not once did I want to take the shoe off, and it never felt like I was in a pool of sweat, like the Kyrie 3 did to me. As with all shoes, they don't stop your feet from sweating. Honestly, breathability is a 8 out of 10. In the toe area of one of the shoes, the upper is beginning to separate from the midsole and the midsole is curving outwards a bit, and a couple of other kids have the same thing happening in different points each. The Nike swooshes on both inside and outside (our team had silver swooshes) peel quite easily, leaving a translucent check. If you rub your shoe against something, there is a chance the silver finish peels, but this doesn't effect performance. Overall, I was pretty happy with the performance of the upper, but not appearance. Nothing special lockdown-wise either, just average.

3. Cushion
This was Nike's first shoe using React cushion, and full-length at that. Break in time is necessary, it took about 8-10 hours for my feet to actually enjoy the set-up. Before it's broken in, my feet actually HURT. Same with everybody who had the same shoe on my team. And the cushion isn't really worth it after. I weigh 140, and the only time I could feel cushion is when I made it a purpose to feel it. I guess the appeal of the shoe is that you can't tell you have a shoe on? Finally, court feel is whatever. You feel a little bit higher than the court but not as much as if you were wearing a shoe like the AJ13 or 14.

OVERALL...
I had a pretty enjoyable experience with this shoe and it will be my main performer in my rotation for a while.
LMK if you disagree with anything.
