I haven't tried on the Baits/Ferocity but it's definitely not unheard of for different CWs to fit different. I've had the same shoe fit different.
The Lebron XI was probably one of the worst for me because my true size 14 fit fine except that the toe box was so short in height that it touched my toes, and the midfoot/arch pinched. A size 15 alleviated both of those problems but I had a good inch+ of length in the toe, so my heel flopped out unless I tied them tightly. Literally years later I decided that the size 14 was better after a painful break-in period. My favorite CWs I ended up keeping both sizes
Ultimately you just have to decide which feels better overall. If the .5 size up feels better and doesn't compromise other aspects like lockdown (heel slip, toes hitting the front of the shoe due to dead space) or placement of the tech (shoe is too long so the ball of your foot misses the zoom bag), go with that.
I think a lot of "sneakerheads" like us overanalyze this stuff because we have and wear so many shoes that your foot doesn't adjust. When you just have one pair of shoes, eventually they just feel normal, like an extension of your foot. They could be two sizes too big and you're cool with it because it's just how things are.
I would probably lose my mind if Nike introduced a commonly occurring size 14.5
