Nike Sabrina 4

These are trash.

But I like the color way a couple pages back with he pink check and neon overlay.

launch day sittin. i don’t know if ill copp the launch cw i’m still working thru my S3s for hooping. i might be in for the black or a nby

The forefoot feels more snug than the previous models, probably partly because the materials are stiffer. (or rather the 1/2/3 are softer).
I don't have my 2 and 3 anymore but I'm pretty sure this has the least forefoot flex of all the models. Hope the upper material doesn't crumple awkwardly.
Outsole feels rounder, and heel cushion is softer, which kinda adds to that sensation. This seems like a direct revision of the 1.

I went regular size. Heel padding pushes me a bit forward, brand new but I can tell this still has that extra bit of length as the previous models. I hope the forefoot is more responsive as a result to the added construction, and the traction pans out.

I wanted to Day 1 this so I can determine if I'm gonna get in on NBY.

Hope the toebox isn't too small. Nike with the super slow shipping. Probably not gonna have these joints til this time next week.

Maybe these will hit NBY after all. I didnt see what elements theyd use as options that would be any good but there are some good options. Now, if ndc could like, ship my pair that would be cool

After a few days of solo workouts (fwiw):

Forefoot stands out the most for me. The bordering stiffer material isn't like Foamposite or crusty Fuse, but it does provide more structure and feedback than the previous models did for me. The underside stiffness adds to that. Generally this line has always appeared to ride the Kobe 5 as the blueprint, and I think this captures some of the forefoot fit. Does that same thing (at least in my experience) where the forefoot frees up after a few minutes and locks nicely after that first adjustment. It doesn't start as tight as the Kobe 5, though. It is a more accommodating fit at regular size and can actually take an aftermarket insole swap (I went with a Move Gameday Pro).

Definitely the most live cushion of all the Sabrina's. Some rounding of the edges helped that. The outrigger doesn't come with that sharp edge feeling that previous models (or most designs that had that 2000-2010 lap).

I can't say too much about traction because I've been outdoors. I find it better than the 2 and 3, but not the 1, which has of the best I've experienced. Difference might be the lack of continuity in the pattern in the 4. I get that bit of scrubbing on hard cuts and step backs.

What's not working so great for me is some lace pressure between the 2nd and 3rd eyelet from the top. I've experienced this with the Sabrina 3''s and Ja 3's,. Go figure, same designer. That is more of a "me" problem, though. I have to draw the top-most eyelets pretty close and that inevitably influences the next immediate rows. Gets me right at that top tendon.

It's not my favorite shoe, but I think overall it does well in catering to a specific niche of player, and feels like the most complete Sabrina build in that respect. Wouldn't mind grabbing a more beater-friendly color or NBY.

Got mine in. On try on, feels like a beefier but slightly cheaper materials in the forefoot 1. These might work out!

Thanks for the feedback! You mentioned, not your favorites, so what are your top 3’s right now (doesn’t need to be of all time)?

Anta Kai 2 and the Kobe 4 are an interchangeable top 2 for me.

3rd becomes a wash of a lot of great shoes on the market.
I really like the current Huarache 2K4 retro, but I do think objectively that the Kobe 1 Proto is the more complete package.

I wouldn't want to reduce the Sabrina 4 as a shoe with too much of a singular merit (the forefoot), but yeah overall I do think there are shoes that are more complete.
