You use this same concept when buying a house too? Pretty sure 99% of people buying a house don’t have enough to pay for all of it at once.

Financing shoes for a kid could be a way for them to build credit early.

You need a place to live. You don't need hype sneakers.

A kid might build credit / learn, or they might get in too deep and screw it all up. Without being educated, a lot will falter. Especially on material possessions.

Personally I hate credit, but I don’t think it’s unreasonable to periodically spread a 700 show over 12 months given the interest is relatively low. In fact, it may be sensible for a responsible person.
