Ok so I have a extra computer here that my boss gave me and it's an emachine and I want to fix it up and the computer is all clean I think it has no virussince it was a work computer and I want to clean it up and fix it up...So my question is what is the best and cheapest graphics card, one that could play gameslike Cod4 or Codwaw you know? I also want it to fast and able to do better than what I am on..So TIPS what be helpfull

good idea 18key but i have so much stuff on my computer like my computer and I want a clean fresh computer though so people I guess eMachine won't work? Iwill install graphics card and a sound booster

you choose the case, the motherboard, the type of CPU either the older quads or the new i7. if you're choosing an older quad or core 2 duo you need amotherboard with a LGA 775 stocket, or if you choose the i7 CPU you need a motherboard with a LGA 1366 socket. yea butwhat fly said how much are you willing to spend, and will you need a new monitor and keyboard and mouse ? i will see what parts i can put together tomorrow

OP if I were you I would try and find an idiot to sell e-machine too for like $300 and add that too the 400 you already have and buy as many partsas you can and save up for whatever you can't get now.

I recommend a core2quad processor and a Radeon HD graphics card all other parts aren't as important but make sure all the stuff you buy is compatible withyour motherboard

He doesn't need a core 2 quad. Most programs/ games don't even utilize it.

He said in the first post he wanted to use it for gaming. Most recent games are coded to utilize multiple processorcores.
