Expecting a bespoke system with a custom Nvidia chip with DLSS technology to be $300 in 2025 is setting yourself up for disappointment. I think the Switch 2 will come in around $400-$450 respectfully.

As for PC gaming... you can't play Nintendo exclusives on a PC. Even if you "emulate" them, they never run as smoothly as on the intended hardware. They're often times buggy and tend to crash, even on more powerful gaming rigs. Also, the average person is not investing $1K into a gaming PC to play a handful of 3rd party games. Exclusives still matter.

Yes, you're right exclusives for Nintendo. I'm talking about MS and Sony if the switch going to cost $400 the other next generation systems going to probably be $600 or more who knows with the tariffs.

A PC rig might not seem that bad to some since it might be a few hundred more than a next gen system.

Switch 1 was/is $300. OLED was/is $350.

Okay well I was right $300. The better one $350.

I know Nintendo likes to stay within a price point that's why their hardware is like 1-2 generations behind.

It's actually a good business strategy and most parents will start their kids out on a Nintendo system and as they get older they might move up to Sony or MS system if they're interested i guess.

Curious, what's the most y'all are willing to pay? I'm prepared to drop $500 for it. I will also buy a Pro controller and two games. Luckily for my wallet, my kids aren't interested in it. They're content with their PS5s and PCs.

I honestly don't think the Switch ever went on a legit sale. Retailers might have did something for their store but a sale from Nintendo. I don't think so. I think the most we got was Switch bundled with a game during the holidays. Even that wasn't a permanent thing.

Yeah. Switch never really went on sale to my memory.

Biggest question after can you get it, will be are you ok with LED or do you want to wait a couple years for a potential OLED and die shrink for increased battery life. If you just play docked, it probably doesn’t matter.

I’ll probably try for 3. Me and my kids. If I don’t get on release I won’t be sad. Not gonna chase it like I did the PS5.

I think the OG Switch will go on sale during this holiday season.

As for the Switch 2, I'm just waiting until April and Nintendo tells us what's what. There's plenty to hold me over between work and my backlog.
