How are his shows? He'll be out here in DC at the Howard Theater on the 25th. Thinking about going.

He was never all that original to begin with. but he was coming with something that had a vintage sound. Then he started doing the singing autotune ******** like Drake but I let it slide cause the rest of the material was pretty cool and he seemed like a solid guy. But now dude is rapping like Future and hanging with CO's. His actions are duplicitous and he's seeming real wack to me.

I was pulling for dude to win the whole time but on the condition of him making quality music not caving in and switching his flow to sound like every other *******. Check back on the thread the same guys who like him now are the same dudes who you'll see in the other threads of popular artists. Conversely, his long time listeners are all saying the same thing HOMEY DON'T SOUND THE SAME!

Progression isn't sounding like William Roberts. Progression isn't sounding like Drake. Progression isn't sounding like Future. Progression isn't sounding like every clown with half a hit.  Progression isn't about making money. Progression isn't alienating part of the core fan base.

Progression is getting better at what makes you special and adding tertiary skills.

Call me a hater but I've watched this unfold and I'm most unsatisfied.

Only reason I listen to nip now is because he slowed down with all that crip this 60's that! Same with snoop. He chilled out n took off. I bangs that Crenshaw tape n marathon continues tough now and "you see us" goes hard but I knew he wasn't gonna go too far with that style of the first vid you posted.

I'm not mad at the content change. I welcomed it. I'm mad the presentation changed. The beats, flow and overall package are now very sof like the rest of the stuff that's out. I don't want Cali rappers that sound like they are from H-town or ATL. He said it himself the Crenshaw tape was made of throwaways from the Victory Lap sessions. He just figured out a way to monetize it. I'm not mad at the business side. I just find his artistry to be lacking now more so than ever. This ain't no I want him to stay underground and underpaid hate. I was rooting for homie but he switched up and started messing with dudes that are in-congruent to the way he presents himself. He seems to not stand for anything other than money and that doesn't  really amount to ****.
 
I dnt know about that nip seems like a stand up guy..someone of high moral fiber
 
Nip whole persona is the hustle and he remarkable showcases this without trapping or killing folks in every verse/bar... To say he only represents money is a clear sign that majority of his music goes over your head. Sure he may present the music in a more commercial friendly way now but u can still take something positive from almost all his stuff.

Son couldn't be any more wrong about Nipsey. There's no way you can listen his music, watch his interviews and say he doesn't stand anything but money.

 Son has joints like Noah's Ark where touches on jails and prisons being on the stock market. Then comes back and does work with a former correction's officer who is making music that is funneling young black males in the trap that Nipsey is alerting them to. His explanation of working with William Roberts is that he is "A1 with him." That's like an alleged black leader working with a known racist and saying, "it's cool he doesn't call me ******."

He said he wouldn't do the complex interview then did the complex interview. Son is all bark and no bite. Furthermore I wouldn't be able to post vids like One of One if he didn't make them. I shouldn't have to watch his interviews to know he is about more than money he's a rapper that should be in his music but more and more it's being filtered out for bubblegum and fluff.

I'm not mad at any one making money the right way but bruh seeems very duplicitous in his actions. Check his comments on all his instagram and facebook posts. It's NOT just me. A lot of his early fans are very aware of the change up and have way more vitriol for the situation than I do. They bought into a brand that is changing to recipe right before their eyes.

I've never been to a show, never bought a sweatshirt so I've never knowingly put a penny in his pocket. Like I said he's never been my favorite rapper but now his music no longer jams on any level and I'm not going to act like it does. If you like it that's cool enjoy the free product or pay $100 but don't chastise me for feeling differently. Especially when I have empirical evidence which you the majority of you agree is true.

@sneakaprince how was the show in Cleveland? I went to the one last night in Columbus...dude is the absolute truth live my only gripe is that I wish he would have performed for more than 30 minutes..
