No B.I.G. posts? Vol. 15 years ago

That news paper front page made my heart drop.

But like I said in the music forum thread, its hard to believe that he was 24 only. When you look back at all he has done, its amazing. 24 is still a kid nowadays. Dude was like 34. Who really had that much fashion influence back then at 24 years old?
The whole mafioso theme he had... everything ...

By the way I remember that Knick game too

damn .. time flies .. R.I.P. BIG

Damn. Remember I learned the whole Notorious Thugs and was waiting in earnest for a video to come out.

It never did.

Stop kidding yourself. Nas > Big in every aspect.

Nas > Big lyrically.
Nas > Big flow wise.
Nas > Big subject matter wise.

Big and Pac are both overrated. They were the two most popular mainstream rappers at the time of their death. There are honestly 30+ rappers that are more technically skilled then Big and Pac.

Juicy and I got a Story to tell are something my favorite tracks. Visual word play on I got story tell is insane

Big is the greatest rapper of all time, in any era.

Rest in Peace. I really hope his son finds great success be it acting or rapping. Love the flick he did with Will Ferrell.

Talked to Metta World Peace on Friday... asked him if, on the anniversary of Biggie's death, he could tell me his favorite BIG song... he said "nah, I don't really listen to rap like that"
Oh... ok... thanks

Was listening to his old freestyles and rare verses on Friday.

It's truly mind-blowing how ahead of his time he was.

The rap game still hasn't caught up to his level of talent.

Nas or Jay may have had the best careers to date (based on preference) but BIG was the most talented MC in history hands down IMO.

Nas and Jay were influenced by him, not vice verse.
Jay's greatest feats of lyricism, like the Corporate Takeover freestyle, were common place to BIG...10 years prior. (See I Love the Dough, Sky's the Limit, Can't stop the Reign & Victory etc)

And Nas couldn't match the charisma or hit making ability Big had in his pinky finger.

Hip-Hop took a major blow with him and Pac's passing.

The man was a virtuoso and will forever be missed.
