NORCAL Driving Requirements?

I am 17 and I have completed Driving Education, do I need Driver training before applying for my Permit or does the training come after the permit? Thanks

Uhh, i think you need some hours behind the wheel since ur under 18..but im not sure since i got my license after i turned 18 and all i needed to do was takethe written test and do the driving test..

Driver training is after the permit. At least that's how it was with me.

pass the written test, 6 hours behind the wheel with instructor, have your permit for a good 6 months before taking the actual driving test at the DMV...wellthat's how it was for me....2 years ago

this is how it was for me a year ago

word of advice: dont drive fast, its not worth it, i seriously hate high school drivers (i was one of them of course), HS kids start speeding everywhere justso they can shave 1-2 minutes from where they wanna be

dont drive drunk or buzzed or anything

look up on AAA.com or your car insurance company, theres some drivers course you take which costs 100 bucks, but it takes 20% off your insurance bill, it canhelp your parents alot since insurance costs like a

my parents pay $50 a month for themselves
they pay around $250 a month for me when i started out, (i think the rate is still the same) never had any driving problems or witht he law if it mattered

Don't listen to those other dim-wits. You need to have signed up for Driver Training with an acknowledged "school" and have proof of registrationbefore you get your permit.
Then, once you have your unvalidated permit, you take your first lesson. They validate your permit and you can drive with a person 25+
